HPC CPD Requirements

This note is intended as a service to readers already registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) or about to be registered. Further information can be obtained from your professional body or the HPC, not the ACS.

All HPC registrants will be required to engage in CPD activities with effect from 1st July 2006. Registrants will need to record their activities in their portfolio and self-declare that they are complying at each registration renewal - October 2007 for Clinical Scientists and 2-yearly thereafter. If selected for audit by HPC, they will need to complete the CPD profile which will then be assessed by CPD assessors. Audits for Clinical Scientists will not occur before October 2009.

This should have little impact upon Clinical Scientists for whom CPD has been a feature of their career development for many years. A short overview can be found here -
