HPC Clinical Scientist Registration Renewal - September 30 2009

HPC registration renewal is due by September 30 this year - ensure HPC have your correct contact details and check you registration status online - it is YOUR responsibility.
HPC Fees increased from April 2009 - see other news item.
All registrants with the Health Professions Council (HPC) must renew their registration every two years - for Clinical Scientists it is October in odd numbered years - 2009, 2011, 2013 etc.
If you are already registered with HPC, you are reminded to ensure HPC have your current contact details.
This can be done online via the HPC website at: http://www.hpc-uk.org/registrants/yourdetails/
For registrants who do not have access to the internet, they can still contact the Registration Team who will change details over the phone. For security reasons, registrants will be asked for random digits from their authentication code so it is important they have their card with them whenever they call us. Registrants can contact the registration team on 0845 3004 472, from Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm.
HPC will be sending renewal invitations to all registered Clinical Scientists in July 2009 to the addressed on their register.
Renewal consists of three steps -
ALL THREE SECTIONS NEED COMPLETING TO ALLOW RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION.
If you have not concluded renewal they send another letter to the same address in August.
If you have not concluded renewal then you will be deleted from the register on October 1st.
Having your money by direct debit will still not prevent HPC de-registration if you do not return the renewal forms duly signed - and they are received by the HPC.
It is YOUR responsibility to ensure you have successfully renewed your registration - even if the postman fails to deliver the invitation to you - or the response to the HPC !

Online renewal is planned by the HPC in the future but will not be available until after Clinical Scientist renewal is completed in 2009 - but it should be available for your 2011 renewals.
CPD audit of clinical scientist returns will occur this autumn. Ensure you are prepared by keeping your portfolio up to date.
New registrants who register during the 6 months up to September 30 in a renewal year do NOT have to renew that year.
